Can you shoot without your laser sight?

We were having a discussion about technology today.  They question arose, what would happen if something shut the technology down.  How could we cope.  I like technology but we need to know how to get by with out it.  Take a Laser Sight for instance.  Mounting a laser on your gun is a great way to improve your shooting without much practice, but you really need to be able to hit your mark without it.  Just imagine the battery of your laser goes out at the most inopportune time.  You have got to be able to make your shot regardless of the circumstances.
